You know how we know Cincinnati’s best walking spots? The Trilogy Walking Challenge returns every May, bringing members together for a little friendly competition and a lot of extra physical activity. Participants split into four teams and compete to see who can log the most steps throughout the month.
Beyond the competition, the challenge has an unexpected perk: members finding themselves discovering new corners of Cincinnati they may not have found otherwise, including the best walking spots. From scenic parks to hidden neighborhood gems, these are 5 of our favorite walking spots around the city.
Ault Park
Nestled between East Hyde Park and Mt. Lookout, Ault Park boasts hiking trails, formal gardens, historic weeping cherry trees, picnic areas, and scenic views. It’s a great place to walk if you want to immerse yourself in nature, or pretend you’re an Italian Renaissance-era baron.

Here’s an extra hot tip: Ault Park connects to our next favorite walking spot, Wasson Way.
Wasson Way
Another one of the best walking spots. Converted from old railroad tracks, Wasson Way stretches from Ault Park to Xavier’s campus. The trail is about 3.5 miles total, which means roughly 7,000 steps added to your daily total (IYKYK). You can even take a break along the way at Rookwood Commons or Hyde Park Plaza. And Matt’s favorite taco spot, Los Cuñados, is just a hop, skip, and a jump from one of the Wasson Way crossings. You’ve gotta try the lengua.

Eden Park Down to Findlay Market
From a castle to a market. Start in one of Cincinnati’s most beautiful parks and end with a delicious treat. Did you know it’s a pretty easy route from Eden Park down to Findlay Market? We like to take the steps by the pump house that looks like a castle, head down Elsinore Place to Reading Road, then continue on to Liberty Street. If you time your walk right, you can grab a goetta, egg, and cheese sandwich at Eckerlin Meats. It’s the GEC that really seals the deal on making this one of the best walking spots.

Sharon Woods
If you haven’t been yet, Sharon Woods recently reopened its Lake Loop Trail after a multimillion-dollar, multi-year restoration project. Jaunt along boardwalks, shady paved trails, and the lakeshore on this 2.5-ish mile loop. The size of this park will blow your mind!
Pleasant Ridge
Our own neighborhood, Pleasant Ridge. We love this one for the hills!
Cincinnati’s most pleasant neighborhood… get it? We sure like it here. Our walks usually take us up Ridge Road toward Montgomery Road, where it’s fun to explore the neighborhoods and admire the architecture along the way. There are also plenty of spots to grab yourself a little treat. But the real reward is the extra cardiovascular challenge those hills provide.
The Walking Challenge is fun, but the best part is discovering all the parks, neighborhoods, and hidden gems Cincinnati has to offer. Whether you’re chasing steps, training for endurance, or just looking for a new place to explore, these walks make it easy to get moving while experiencing more of the city.
